I am new to lap steel, not been playing for long.
Finding it all very difficult but hopefully will get some help to learn.

Hi Sheena,
Welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll find some help here. This site may be worth a look, for starters.

Hi Danny,
Thank you so much for this link. I have brought so many books and courses none have explained as simply and clearly what to practise as this, I find most get confusing as expect you to know music theory.
I have watched some of Joes videos on u tube before. He is a very clear teacher.
I play left handed so it’s a little harder to decipher with most videos but this is so easy for me to follow and makes perfect sense where to start and what to practise.

Another thing, that I found the most helpful, depending on where you are located, is to attend a steelies meeting. There are two regular meets that I'm aware of, one, up here in Scotland, at Gartcosh, and another in North East England, at The Buck Inn, Thornton Watlass.
So, if you're within striking distance of any of these I'd thoroughly recommend getting along. There's nothing like getting that kind of advice and encouragement, it's a great motivator.
Good luck with your steel journey :guitar:
