Hello to everyone, Ron here... from Nottingham.
Well... I'm standing on the edge of the pool and ready to take the plunge..!!!
I've played Guitar and Bass for years in all genres, but started to get into slide guitar last year, playing some Blues stuff in open E on a Les Paul Junior with a band and greatly enjoying it.
Of course the damage is now done, my 1st slidey fix was for free and now I need a stronger hit, so I've pulled the trigger on a Lap Steel and I'm hitting YouTube.
But, when you go down the rabbit hole, a whole new world beckons, and you discover Benders and then you realise their limitations and finally you arrive at Pedal Steels..!!
So, here I am, loving "that Sound" and wanting to try it out, get lessons and have enough information to be able to confidently buy a good pedal steel to learn on.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Ron
