From Slide to Pedal Steel :)

Hello!
Thanks for accepting me into the group. My name's Tom I've been playing the guitar for 15 years now mainly fingerpicking and slide. I bought a dobro a year ago and joined a local band called Yeehaa Granma playing old time bluegrass/country/blues and it's really opened my eyes to playing the guitar this way.

I've always loved hearing the beautiful sounds of the pedal steel and am really interested in getting one but don't really know where to start. Fortunately I found this great site and have seen there's a Pedal Steel festival in the south coast next weekend and can't wait to go and learn as much as I can and hopefully meet some of you! Are there any Steelies in the Southampton area at all? I'd love to meet up and have a chat and a jam if possible :)

Cheers,
Tom.

Cheers, Tom.

Indeed there are, :geek: and excellent ones at that! You will do well to get along to the Festival and meet some of them, don't be shy, just go say "hello".
Best of luck with your new interest, Tony :D
