Julia, Ted Nesbitt still has a couple of decent guitars for sale and they are not the high end of the market I would suggest one of them would suit you, may be a little over your budget but I can tell you it is worth going that extra bit as a "student" guitar is IMHO the road to frusration AND, when you come to part with the proper guitar.........you will get your money back.
