Hello - new steel player (just bought a Bennett S10)

Hi everyone,

About to become the owner of my first pedal steel guitar - An S10 Ronnie Bennett. (I currently play 6 string)

I haven't received the guitar yet, should be arriving in the next few days. I believe it is currently in the 'Day' setup... and wondering about converting it to Emmons. (Mainly because I'm going to start diving into some of the Paul Franklin online lessons, so I'm thinking it will make things less confusing for me..!)

Very happy to receive any advice about this though.

Also, does anybody happen to know anybody in Kent, or general South East area that would be able to carry out services and repairs - should I decide to go this route..

It's a confusing new world but looking forward to the journey!

Hello Jack welcome aboard I would be happy to change the setup over for you if you are silly enough to want it done But you would have to bring the guitar to Saint Neots Where this heinous crime could be committed in my cave.

Thanks for the reply! I've had my first few hours with the guitar, and think I'm going to persist with the Day setup for now, and just see how things go. But will keep your cave in mind for the future..

Here's another question, if I may.. where could I go to source one of those small thumb wheel style tuning wrenches for tuning the pedals...? They are readily available in the states, but can't find any for sale over here..

You will find them on ebay search for pedal steel and they usually come up but if you PM me your address I will see if I can find a spare one here.
