New member here to say "Hello"

Hello everybody I'm Gary, I live in deep, dark Somerset. I have joined this site to learn all about lap usteel and the best equipment to buy. I have always wanted to play guitar. But following an accident I have no movement in my right elbow, the wrist and fingers work, sort of, ok. I was in my local music shop wondering whether to try out keyboards when up popped this wonderful instrument. One of the guys gave me a demo. Now I am hooked and looking for my first instrument. Because of my disability I am not working the budget is a bit tight! Anyway hi to everybody!

I notice you have the same surname as a friend of mine who recently passed in Texas, Bobby Bowman (sadly missed) was a friend to steel players all over the world and a first class steel mechanic...... if you share the same genes who knows what you might achieve

What part of deepest Somerset do you live. There are a number of steel players living in your area.
Tonight just over the border in South Gloucester we are holding our monthly steel workshop I not sure if any lap steel players will be attending tonight. But you are welcome to come and meet the guys and have a brew.. We kick off at 6.30pm at St Anne's Church Hall Siston near Bath
There will be a few pedal steels you can sit behind.
