Hello again to anyone that knows me, after a long period of bad health I have returned to steel playing.

This time I intend to learn how to play correctly, instead of "lugging it" Eric Morcome style, right notes but not necessarily in the right place!

I am limited to non pedal only, although that can be a blessing in disguise, and during the summer months I built another steel to help me play easier.
It is a seven string 24 1/2" scale plank, built from a scrap piece of 4" X 2" mahogany 33 1/2" in length, the main thing is it sounds good, especially when my hearing aids are still in the box!

If you have read this my first post has been a success.
Regards to all
Robert Mac Neilage
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Hello and welcome, Robert.
I'm happy to report that your first post was indeed a success, and I doff my cap to your steel building skills.

If, by any chance, you're within striking distance of Gartcosh? Come on down to one of the meets an' gie's a wee tune on your 7 stringer :guitar: One of the regular attendees (and lapsteel guru) ,Dougie, is well worth hearing. You'd love it....guaranteed :P
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

Hi Danny
living in Glasgow, Gartcosh should not be a problem depending how deep the snow is of course, will get details from you nearer the time, does anyone play in C6th on lap steel? :guitar:

Robert

Hi Robert,
The next meet is Jan 24th. The only C6 player is Bob Adams one of the Gartcosh Gurus. I think Dougie uses a G or D tuning on his lappy. It's a great night, inspirational in fact.
I've got a pedal on my steel that gives me a C6, 7string setup
, but so far it's just confused me :(
All the best when it comes :guitar:
