Bob (Jazzsteel) registered with us recently but as yet is the best kept secret ! Many of you will know him from his visit to the ISGF last October; those who haven’t heard him check him out with Jim Cohen at the end of this clip from last year 6.30mins into a 9.30min clip so go get a coffee before you sit down to watch, enjoy!

Bonjour, Hello, Hola!

Thanks for the welcome. It was so nice seeing you in Ireland Roy.

It was indeed very nice seeing people I had not seen since living in England in the 80's.

Salut mes amis!

Hello Basil,

I lived in Manchester from 1984 to 1987. My brother Jean also lived in Manchester at that time.

We did a lot of work for BBC TV. We had the chance to work with some great session musicians.

We wrote and played many styles of music. It was a great learning experience because it gave me the opportunity to adapt many styles of music to the steel!

I also toured all over England and Scotland with various bands. Gerry Hogan invited me and Jean to play his Steel festival twice!

Track 17 to 20 in the MP3 page (Country session) and Tracks 1 to 8 (Jazz Funk session) also in the MP3 page were recorded in Manchester.

Take care!

Bob
