Lap Steeler in Germany

Hi there,
I've been playing lap steel for about 30 years, although in the past 15 or so years I've been concentrating on playing a regular Fender Strat.
I only play as a hobby, so anyone expecting world-shattering soli will be VERY disappointed!
However, I would like to 'rekindle' the steel 'flame', so to speak, and figured that this forum would be a good way to start!
As I'm over here in Germany (since 1991), I tried a German forum, but as yet I've to receive an activation e-mail!

Best of luck. There are a number of lap steel players on this Forum and it's a good source of information and advice.

What was that line from Cabaret? "Wilkommen, bienvenu, welcome" I think! Good to have you here. I think Country lives on in Germany a little better than in UK?

Will, the band "Truckstop" (they're based near Hamburg) is still very popular, as is "BossHoss", and there are other C&W singers and groups around. Just taking a look at the website of bandlist.de for German bands lists 192 entries, and there are a few more lurking in the shadows (no, not Hank Marvin!
