Hi from sunny north Lincolnshire

I'm new to this forum and the lap steel so wanted to introduce myself.
I only had 4 months of lessons on a standard guitar when I had a massive motorcycle racing accident, leaving me with lots of injuries, but one was nerve damage to my arm, meaning I am unable to play a standard guitar anymore (not that i'd progressed past cords anyway).
My physio suggested trying a lap steel, so here I am.
A total novice and only ever going to be playing to myself in my back room, but looking forward to the journey.
I am self learning so likely to be asking lots of questions.
