The place for our latest members to say hi! and for us to welcome!

I haven’t got access to my beautiful obsession for a week, so it’s about time I introduced myself.
Firstly, I would like to apologise for hanging about in the wings for so long.
Secondly, I would like to thank you all for the tips and tricks you loverly forum members have shown me over the past year or so.
I feel like I know a lot of you already. I thought it was a bit of a pipe dream, that one day I would be sitting at a pedal steel of my own! But, with the help of all the lessons posted on the internet, I seem to have got to grips with quite a few of the basics and a few nifty bits, which is quite a feat for a slightly befuddled old geezer like myself.
I hope that in the not too distant future I may be able to contribute, and maybe even help an oldbie/newbie like myself.....
Or even ask a few questions and possibly tell the story of my journey to this bonkers instrument.
But for now,
All the best,
Love and the greatest respect to you all
From the sunny

Hi Stan, welcome aboard. I will be making the long trek from North Wales to a holiday cottage in Whitchurch Canonicorum on Saturday so will say hello to West Bay whilst in the area. Regards, H.

Hello and welcome Stan,
There's a fair body of 'late starters' on here, so your in good company.
I'm feeling your pain, at being ousted from your lair. Whenever anyone, our boys or friends, stop over I've got to dismantle my humble setup and stick it under the bed, and then be expected to act the genial host. Life can be cruel.

Hi Stan
Welcome to the forum and get those grandchildren playing steel asap! I hate to think what the average age on the forum is and that’s before we even start on gender and diversity issues! (Secretly I’m only joining in with this welcoming thing to try and up my rating. Just made it to 2 blue things but Danny is a 5!)
Cheers
Calum

Had the pleasure of meeting up with Stan Steel (Stuart) and his wife Alison in West Bay (aka Broadchurch in Dorset) yesterday. Had a very enjoyable hour chewing the fat about guitars and experience as well as coffee and a snack

as Stan and his wife run a very successful catering business near the harbour. Anyone in the area should make a point of calling in to say hello as Steelies and Beardies may attract a discount. IMO one of the forums good guys.
