The honour of starting this section must go to the illustrious Mr (Zumbilly) Murdoch as he was first to register on the new site.

Back left is d'man with a firm hand there on the other illustrious Donny Johnston

Was this a find or wot!!! :D :D

The Band ....Country Kin

Re Photo in the oldies: back left is Bill Murdoch, not Billy Murdoch. Bill came from Balloch and after playing with Country Kin he was the lead guitar player with Trampas for many years, back right is bass player, Sandy Reid, Sandy and I have been friends since school days, middle is singer rythm player, Tommy Conway, I started playing lap steel with Tommy in a 3 piece country band, front right is, drummer John McDonald after Country Kin, John played with Trampas for many years, front left is yours truly, I had just purchased the ill fated "Rotosound" steelguitar, I don't remember looking so young. The shot was taken in the "Quo Vadis" in Paisley Rd. West, Glasgow, we played there 4 nights a week, round about 70/71. Hope this explains all. Donny Johnston.

Donny,
Thanks for the clarification.
I think the Late Bill Murdoch does look a lot like Joe.
I didn't actually meet Bill until the early ninties. Helluva player and nice Gent.

Billy, That was quick, Bill was a great player,a very much jazz influenced player, he really got into country after listening to Roy Nicols play with Merle Haggard, he could do all the riffs. Loved the man.Donny
