Many thanks to Jeff Mead, Mike Holland, Alan Cannell, Stephen Baker and Lee Holland for excellent advice on a Fender 8 I saw on eBay UK (still there). I posted on SGF and Jeff suggested joining BSS.

I have a Ridgmount 6 string lap with what looks like a pre war Ricky pup. Photos coming up in the week. Any help in identifying/valuing will be much appreciated and I'll add what Guitar Vinters Florida have helpfully said.

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum. I had a very good friend in Texas named Bobby Bowman who was a help to steel players all over the world, unfortunately he passed over a year ago now and it gave me a bit of a start when I saw your name.....
Look forward to seeing pictures of your plank and welcome aboard..

I've put the Ridgmount on 'For Sale' a minute ago - could do with some more info really
