Does anyone remember Shakey selling a home made steel? Well I had one and so did Tony and at the NESGF we were able to compare notes. Someone said more twang than a Marks and Spencer Knicker counter and they are right. I used this guitar for this recording.
I needed something a bit special to play at the NESGF so increased my chord knowledge and just about managed this. Played entirely on lap steel with standard C6 tuning.https://soundcloud.com/mike-hearn-197524187/nightlife

Well if you "just about" managed it I don't think anyone there noticed, Mike, it went down very well and deservedly got rich applause. Very nice - and once again, who needs pedals?

Thanks for your kind comments folks.

OMG - just found another one and tried it. John Hughey - Hello Darlin'. Forward and reverse slants all over the place. Really will test the left hand and Basils bar.

Mick, Thank you for posting your 'Night Life' track.
As a first time attendee at the NESGF in Thornton Watlass your rendition of this tune was indeed a 'bit special' .
Of all the superb music played on that day, your playing of Night Life was for me the most memorable.
I can now replay the track to my hearts content.
My thanks and regards to all the attendees for their great musicianship and friendliness to me.
John Stafford

Really nice that Mick, now if I could have made it sound like that I would have probably kept it. Keep it up. Dave.
