First go at C6

Well I got a set of GHS C6 strings and set them onto an old "bitsacaster" that's been gathering dust. I'm amazed at what a difference the correct string sets make! Incidentally I use also GHS strings on my Manouche Gypsy guitar, they're reasonably priced and give great results. Now all I have to do is sort out some C6 Tabs and get cracking.
If I have some fun and pick things up OK, I'll make an effort and build a 6 string lap steel. Think I have enough bits laying around to get started.

Glad I'm not alone with C6th / A7th although I haven't tried GHS Strings I use La Bella strings from Frets Only and they are superb, plus the service to me from the North East of UK to from Frets Only is rapid. But it's like a lot of 'things' musical we all have different preferences and touch. So whatever suits you is fine and correct.

Maurice - I've just checked out the "Frets Only" site (didn't know them) and found another coincidence; they are at Blaydon, which is part of my original home town! Tony

Hi Tony,
I forgot to mention where they were, definitely your neck of the woods. I found them by error, but the error turned out to be one of the best suppliers to me in France as they don't overload postage and they are very quick indeed. Saw Bedale on the news this morning...that is still one of the biggest hunt meets in the UK.
Keep nagging, cos I let a few days go bye without using the finger extensions!!!
