Hi Neville,
I discovered Musescore a while ago and posted a thread which may be of some use:
https://www.thebritishsteeliessociety.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12127 There was certainly a free download for 8 string lap steel somewhere in the ether.
From memory, it's great for lap steel but a right pain if you want to raise just one note whilst leaving others as they are. I transcribed some stuff for my guitar with a B-bender, and had to effectively add a separate track for the B string so that only that note was raised. There is possibly a smarter way to do this but I didn't find it...
Good luck using it - I found it a huge help in learning other people's solos, as once the notes are there you can play at part speed to work out how to get from one bit to another!
Cheers, Sid
