Does anybody have a source for 8 String A6 strings. I have a set on one of my guitars and they are heavier than the C6 sets, but I can't find a supplier unless I pay a fortune in shipping to get them from US.
Cheers,
Keith.

If John is unable to help try Newtone Strings in Derbyshire email [email protected], Neil will be able to help you as all strings are made up on site, I have several sets to fit to my guitars due to unusuall string gauges.
Prices range from 83p for a 0.15" plain to £2.25 for a 0.40" wound.
Hope this helps,
Robert :guitar: :guitar:

Hi Robert.
Thanks for the Newtone heads up. I already contacted the and I'm awaiting a reply. John Stafford had also suggested them.
JD has come up trumps so think I'm sorted.
Regards,
Keith.

As a newbie to lap steel after 55 years of playing guitar, are lap steel strings different from guitar strings? Or are they the same as long as the gauge matches?!!

I fitted my 8 string with Ernie Ball guitar strings, but have just bought a set of GHS C6 Lap Steel Strings and wondered if their is a difference?

Sorry if this sounds like a daft question but it has me wondering.

Regards,
Baz.

As long as the Gauge is right for the note you tune it to, your Ernies will be fine
