Therefore if in the Key of E my mind says the opening phrase is like this - Using the words of the song I would go - To (E) Get (A) Her (E) A (G) Gain (E).

In your example above, for the word "A" I don't hear a G chord - sounds to me more like it would be either a B or maybe an Eb.

Hi Maurice
Only just picked up on this. I have to admit I have not been on in a while, but I too have been frustrated by a complete lack of response to posts made, and also by some very poor quality responses which has resulted in me disengaging a bit.
I too would like to see more on here and if we are able to gain a bit more momentum I would contribute more often (bit of a catch 22 I guess).
Cheers, Andrew

Sorry guys, I'm no plank player (future hope though) but music is music. There is no Eb in that place, it's a B or a B7. Musically, it's the dom7, or the V chord. Nothing else sounds right.

What sort of style - tuning etc? I would have thought there would have been somebody within the south London Steelers that could help.
Do you play any other instrument and what level of steel do you play at the moment?

Newbie here. National Grand Console, C6 on closest neck, just deciding on upper neck, probably E13 I'm thinking. I like Western Swing primarily. I've also got a 6 string Goldtone I've messed about with for a while, but scale length and string spacing is a whole other ball game with the National. Still getting the basics together.......
