I've finished my latest creation:
http://www.winerider.com/guitars.html
I think I have tried to be too clever with the pickup as the tone is not what I intended or was looking for, but it can be corrected. The item in question is a lipstick style pickup!!! Stupid of me but then I do occasionally like to be a smart ass. So if I don't get shot down in flames, what about a Lace pickup?????
Still having trouble sitting too long trying to play since tha arm, back trouble etc, but falling from barn roof's is not recommended, but I think aprt from the pickup it is the best I have made to date. The cherry is a lovely colour and the walnut for the fretboard is beginning to tone down nicely. I used plastic inlay for the frets, which is eaier for the eyes to see against the darker background. Still struggling the the thickness of the strings but will eventually get the ones that suit me. High G tuning so I am at the moment using (all in thou.) G .011, E .017, C .020, A .024, G .026, E .032, C .038, A .048. So if anyone has any thoughts they will be greatfully received. I am using a Mooer reverb, and a Morley volume pedal...wish I'd flown a chopper!!! Hand, foot and brain coordination, Just Ain't What It Used To Be.
Sad that so many brilliant players are going to the spirits in the sky, but just think we will all meet them if we're good enough to get there.
