Anyone know anything about Jedson lap steels? I have a friend who may be selling one.

Jedsons were usually copies of Fender steels, made in Japan in the 70's.

They were cheap when they came out but, to be honest aren't bad instruments.

Their market value has gone up way out of proportion to what they would otherwise be worth mainly due to a certain David Gilmour of popular beat combo Pink Floyd (I've seen them go for £800 or so which is crazy for a 70's Japanese copy).

If your friend has the same model as him (see photo) then he might be better off going via the various Pink Floyd forums rather than steel guitar forums as there would probably be a lot more interest there.

If he can find someone in one of the various Pink Floyd tribute bands he might make a few bob on it.
