Seat for bad back

Postby thefatcyclist » Wed Oct 09, 2013 1:03 pm

The problem. I am getting a sore back after sitting playing for a while. Now here is the thing, this is a problem that I have had for years in certain situations. Going out for a meal requires me to get up between courses for a walk about for instance, or even a dinner party. However I can sit at a piano on my piano stool for hours without the same pain, (just every body listenenings ears get pain :o ). Thus I detect a posture problem whilst at the lapsteel.
I have just bought a Stringmaster D6 copy and intend to use the legs, and I am needing a seat so I can work with both together to get a comfortable setup Do date I have used a drum throne free standing, a drum throne with my back up against a wall, my piano stool, a secretaties chair, my couch and the edge of my bed. Pain at all counts.
I know there are ranges of Steel Seats, which would be handy for the power supplies pedal board etc etc, and I have read all the cost arguaments, so no need to delve into them. The thing wilth these seats is that looking at them, they all seem to have the same back angle as a dining room chair, so I am not willing to speculate £200 on that type without trying first. I want to support while playing, not whilst resting between playing. I have short legs.

Sooooo chaps what do you recommend I do. Cheers.
