Hmmm! Why do they insist on using adjustable bridges (on the twin-6) from standard guitars?? The 8 string has a decent (but still adjustable for some reason) bridge.
First edit.
Later:- here's another one.
http://davidporthouselapsteelguitar.blogspot.co.uk/I think I met the maker a couple of years ago. He has links to a mutual friend, Jim Hornsby. But, on some of them, there's those guitar bridges again! I can't believe it's too much trouble or expense to make a proper steel guitar bridge for every model in the range.
Second edit.
Also last Thursday I played another pal's (John France) single 8 made by this guy and it played very nicely. I only sat in for one song during his band's album-launch bash and so can't call it a proper "road test". John's 8 string looked like one of the cream jobbies and was on very good and solid legs.
