Hi people,
I've very recently, ie. yesterday, become the proud owner of a Gosden solid mahogany weissenborn. It was just to phenomenal a deal to pass up for my first weissenborn (swapped a road worn series telecaster for it)!
I have never owned a solid wood acoustic stringed instrument before. Well, not strictly true, my Norman guitar has a solid top but cherrywood laminate sides but ive never had a problem with it. I've heard many horror stories about solid wood guitars; people saying you need to always keep them in the case else they crack, you need to buy humidifying systems all sorts of stuff. If I could get some advice I would be most appreciative.
Also, it only came in a gig bag. It's a solid- neck style Weiss, not a hollowneck (is there a term for this I thought they were all hollow?). Any recommendations re: hardcases? Can I just get an acoustic case or do I need a special Weissenborn case.
Eek!
