I am still struggling with my left hand, which will not let me grip too well on the slide, so I have modified them slightly, with the help of super glue and a piece of mahogany.

Hi Ken Ooops,
I think I'm going brain dead...nothing new there.
I'll have another try: This is driving me mad I've made the sizes correct and it still doesn't load...Aagh

Smart thinking Maurice. It wouldn't suit everyone, but I bet there are some out there who might be very interested in your modification.

Nice piece of work Maurice. Had you tried the ergonomic / dobro style tone bars?
Cheers, Andrew

I agree Ken,
We are all different, I even thought of a ring style addition on the top of the slide, but discounted it...purely from esthetic point of view. THere is or was a hawaiian lap steel player who had a badly damaged hand through a fire (I think that is right) but if anyone knows for sure please put me right, who had a pivoting ring attached to his slide, and boy he was good.
Andrew, yes I have tried the ergo slides and have two of them, different makes an different steel/chrome. I found they catch the strings when sliding across as one play's, probably me but I just couldn't get on with them. I tried a Shubb SP1, which is longer and has a curved end, that was much better but the weight and the narrow grip was difficult for me.
There are a lot of pickers out there who do have hand, finger or grip problems, and if my mod isn't for all there is always a place for some one to look at the pics and possibly change it to suit thier needs. It only takes about thirty minutes to make the two and fit them and play.
