Affordable alternative to Goodrich volume pedal

Does anyone have an idea what's a good alternative to a Goodrich volume as my budget won't stretch that far. Morley or Ernie ball any good? I am looking to use it with my Gibson BR9.

Barry I use a Morley...fine budget pedal, but it is not the best in the world. Place an ad in the wanted column, there are plenty of pickers with good quality second hand gear who might be able to help, especially as money is tight. We all suffer that situation from time to time.

Hi Barry, in my experience I was not impressed with the Morley. Sarah swears by her Ernie Ball Junior pedal but bear in mind it has a 250k pot so will rob you of some top end frequencies . Keep a look out for a Goodrich and fit a dunlop hotpotz 470k and it will last you for years

Barry if on a budget, find any reasonable old volume pedal and as Derek suggested fit the Dunlop pot, that is where sound comes from, just make sure the pedal has a relatively smooth action.Don't use any other make of pot (unless you can find an original Allen Bradley 500 pot, not the current version) because despite what it says on the tin, it and every other make eg PEC , Claristat etc, doesn't, most last from weeks to a few months despite the longlife claim, see all the articles on pots on this forum and American Forum.

Fender's FVP-1 is a good carcase to put a Hot Potz in. It is a rack & pinion type, and that is the most robust type available.
