legs and leg sockets

Wed Jul 10, 2013 10:28 pm

There was a post last year on someone making a lap steel and then adding legs which he made from steel tube and adapted it to the lap steel with threaded ends etc. Anyone know who this was, or where I can get some cheap and cheerful legs for a lap steel made. The proper machined ones cost about 50 quid each, if anyone can help with alternatives it would be realy helpful, thanks.

I made my legs for my lap steel out of a 'Castorama' (B&Q) Tripod for a laser level. They are ally with plastic adjuster clips I then made three 'U' sections out of wood, drilled them to take the bolts for the legs, then three ally threaded captive nuts, drilled the bottom of the LS and bolted them on. All in all about two hours of work and very cheap. If I could work out how to put photos on the site of them I would. I'm thick, I know without being told. If you contact me direct I'll photo mine and send the pics.

Hi Perez,

Hey somewhere down the line we were all nubies and to be honest I needed more help than many. I got info from all over the place, some good, some not so good, but the bottom line is we are all interested in Lap or Pedal and should try and help anyone who is asking for help.

I will always try...even if some of my explanations might need clarification occasionally.
