News and views on all things Lap Steel

Last week I went to see Hank Williams 3 (Hank Williams' grandson) in Bristol. The band were all great musicians and he had a fantastic steel pedal player with him, played a Fender double 8 that sounded lush and also a Dobro. I think he was called Andy Bishop. Since found out some more about him on t'internet, he says he learned from and was mentored by Kayton Roberts and he seems to have played with a lot of big names. Anyhow, it was a great gig, Hank 3 paid respect to Hank 1st's music and did his own thing too. I enjoyed it all - it was all him. He was pretty wild, a chip off the old block maybe? Did anyone else catch the tour?
