Hey Will, I love that sentiment and I know you are hitting a lot of people where they live with that one. 1968, 22yrs of old and a guy is watching me play in a pub. He comes over, says, "I've got a guitar at home that you deserve to be playing,it's a Fender Telecaster and I'll never learn to play it.It's yours for £80. After the gig I begged and borrowed, even hit the landlord for a "sub"and raised the cash. We went to his home (a short walk) and he brought to the door this little white beauty of a Tele. Now to be honest this feller had downed a few beers through the evening and not wanting to be a greedy snatcher I told him I wasn't sure he should let this go. "Naw,"he said."You need it more than I do,I'll never play it." I had a no name cricket bat at the time so I was drooling at the thought of the next gig with this dream guitar. As I was counting out the money his wife came up behind him snatched the guitar from his hands and told me to sod off as she'd bought the guitar for his birthday some years before. Embarrassing to say the least, a bit like Nora Batty and Walter
