That means there's an invalid character in your post. Are these when copying and pasting YouTube URL's by any chance? Or some other URL link?

When posting a YouTube URL make sure you include only the part of the URL for the video, and not any of the other query strings in it. For example: -

Code: Select all
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLiYPmYTLIc[/youtube]

is OK, but: -

Code: Select all
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLiYPmYTLIc&feature=related[/youtube]

is not, the &feature=related shouldn't be there and the video won't work, and it may the ampersand in it that is causing the error.

If that's not the case, be extra careful with any special characters in your post. If you see a pattern let me know (for example, if it is just when using the YouTube BBCode, and which code gives the error).

AHA, I obviously don't include malformed links etc. BUT I DO use Chinese, Mandarin, Sanskrit, Greek and other characters in my posts on other forums, so I naturally assumed they were implemented here.. Is it only the standard ASCII set then ?

Why do I use these characters, there are a LOT of Hawaiian Steel Guitarists in Japan, India, Melanesia and Polynesia. I use THEIR special characters in my posts to help bring THEM to the site via THEIR searches in their languages.

I suppose you wouldn't know, but as a for instance, there are an estimated 2,000 plus Hawaiian music combos featuring Hawaiian Steel Guitar in japan, all of whom are most active on the internet.
Research data from 2004 (Ikaros Publications) published in Satekina Hula Style Magazine and reprinted in Pacific Business News (November 2, 2007) states that there are an estimated 250,000 hula students learning the dances of Hawai`i in 220 halau hula (dance schools) 230 cultural schools, 1,230 community centers, and 2,164 gymnasiums in Japan.

Those numbers are three years old.

And we thought it impressive that there were 500 Hawaiian music combos performing in Tokyo, when my albums were released there in the late1960s and early 70s. Almost every group had a dancer.

According to the Ikaros research, the quarter of a million dance students in Japan spend more than $190 million a year to learn the hula, and they dance to LIVE Steel Guitar combos.

I have sold more records in Japan and India than I have in the rest of the world combined. I wish to retain my profile in those areas, ergo my strange characters.

Below is an example of what I post (Sometimes)

Most characters should be OK. The first error you posted was actually caused by what is called a Byte Order Mark (or BOM), and to be honest I'm not quite sure how you're including that in a post but the most probable cause is content pasted from elsewhere, which isn't UTF-8 ecncoded.

Strangely enough the foreign languages don't cause a problem on the USA SGF or the ESGF which are both "Powered by phpBB"

So THIS shouldn't be a problem..

But it is here ..
When I tried to post it I got the SQL ERROR again..
The Japanese kanji Characters on their own are causing the error..
See THIS
