How to link a "hosted" AUDIO file

Postby Basil Henriques » Thu Jul 08, 2010 12:53 pm

It's done like this
First [url=
then the actual url where the file's hosted i.e. http://www.waikiki-islanders.com/assets ... 0Wind2.mp3
then close bracket ]
then the name you want to give it "Excremental Meanderings" or whatever
then open bracket and slash [/
then url closed bracket like this url]

Then you get this..
The unedited one
The processed one

HERE is the code written with a mistake so you can see the complete format.. NOTE the missing "L" in the first section that's the mistake..
[ur=http://www.waikiki-islanders.com/assets/Luke%20Hickory%20Wind2.mp3]The processed one[/url]

I've also now added a custom BBCode to allow embedding MP3 files into posts, as an alternative to this method if anyone wants to use it.

See MP3s in Posts for info.

Arcada, the custom button for the mp3 player is really good for most purposes, the method I've explained does allow the "Downloading" of the file (For educational Purposes Only), I see both methods have their uses..

I've updated the BBCode to provide an optional download link alongside the player.

Code: Select all
[mp3]http://www.thebritishsteeliessociety.co.uk/demo.mp3[/mp3]

produces:

I'll update the documentation and info posts when I get some time.

Enjoy :D
