Hi All,
Hope you don't mind me posting - I'm Bob's long suffering "web guy" so feel free to ask any "how do I....." questions and I'll try my best to answer them.
First up - I noticed you guys are YouTube junkies so have created a new BBCode tag for embedding YouTube videos right into your posts. Simply take the YouTube URL (web address) and put it between [youtube][/youtube] tags in your post. I've also added a youtube BBCode button which you'll see when you post a message, just click on it and then add the URL of the youtube video.
The result should look something like this: -
- Code:
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqNBslt1qWM[/youtube]
For which the end result would be: -
NOTE: For this to work embedding must be enabled in the YouTube settings for the video.
Enjoy

It's a custom written BBCode. I'm working on one for embedding MP3s just now so expect that soon....

I've now added the
MP3 player as well.
In addition to the instructional forum posts I have also added instructions for both to the general BBCode FAQ which can be found
here (only for the English language version, I'm afraid).

Marc,
Do you have any idea why I can't see the video content when I click on an embedded YouTube video? The only part of the video I can see is a narrow stripe at the top of the frame. The rest looks like a maladjusted LCD contrast setting: just barely visible, but useless!

Odd...no idea, most likely a graphics issue on your device (PC / laptop / phone / tablet). The embedded videos still link to the videos on YouTube, just click on the title...that is assuming you can view them OK on YouTube?
EDIT: I've just updated the code to use YouTube's iframe implementation instead of the old embed code, this might improve things for you and anyone else having issues.

It's a fairly recent model laptop, Marc, running Win7. Video is fine if I go direct to YouTube by clicking the URL in the title bar at the top, but your change fixed the problem anyway. Thank you!

In that case, it sounds like the problem may have been Flash related. The old embed code relied on Flash, whereas the iframe approach doesn't need it.

Fixed in a "Flash".. or not Flash.... Maybe it was a "Bad Flash"..
