Three years ago Basil you told me about Tubesock , a programme to download youtube videos.
This worked great for a long while then it stopped working are there any other programmes that will work with an imac to download the vids off youtube ?

DownloadHelper will do this - http://www.downloadhelper.net/. It's an extension for Firefox, so you have to also use that browser (if you don't already).

Alan, since the Tubesock method got nobbled by YouTube, I've been using this:- http://www.mediaconverter.org/ most successfully.
Steelies do it without fretting
