There is still hope for real country

Postby RonMc » Fri Apr 06, 2018 9:14 am

Proof that real country still exists William Michael Morgan, a young singer with a 'mans' voice, certainly beats the current plethora of 'squeekies', and as a bonus, a pedal steel in the band. :guitar: :guitar: :P :P

Roland amps, Telecaster, Tyros 4 and several self built steels.

Well done for finding this Ron. It makes a small dent in the pop rock brigade masquerading as country in Nashville, but William is as country as it gets thankfully. The young man on pedal steel is Eddy Dunlap, a really nice polite guy who is a monster player. I'm proud to call him a friend. :D

Fantastic stuff - I shall keep an eye out for William Michael. One of my favourite younger singers of late is Mo Pitney - absolutely amazing voice, and he seems to have a genuine feel for 'proper' country music! See link below for a nice version of Borrowed Angel - plus the bonus of Mike Johnson on steel guitar :D

Yes indeed, it's great to hear a good baritone voice, in any style, and both these guys are great country singers :guitar:
I'd like to add this young dude to the mix....

Colter Wall. Canadian, and his debut album has some tasty PSG all over it. It's just a pity they're calling him the new Johnny Cash, what weighty responsibility to place on a new artist.

He certainly reminds me of a young Cash, he seems to have the same 'homespun' folksy style.
