An amusing incident here in Corfu
Posted: Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:25 pmMy wife and I were coming along the main road from Tzavros to Corfu town when we saw the blue lights flashing and,
there they were in all their finery ,the plod. Now we know just about all the police here but these had baseball caps on indicating mainland police and we were duly waved down for a standard ID check. Over he comes to Lin's side (we are
a right hand drive 4 x 4 so she waved him to my side where he looks at the front number plate which has a Texas one
underneath and asked me if I had diplomatic plates !!! I answered as truthfully as I could and said "no", well, could he
see the vehicle documents. he looked at the regisration/log paper and called his mate over and they both confered and
nodded their approval. This caused much mirth for Lin and me as the document is all in Welsh, they must be quite good
at languages as even I can't read it ! anyway, a quick salute from him and off we went, another day of excitement here
in Corfu ! Hey ho !
