Glen Campbell's Adios

There I was, at the ironing board, taking the creases out of my underpants (isn't retirement a wonderful thing....I'm living the dream) and listening to Glen Campbell's final recordings. An album, touchingly, called Adios. The first half of this is new material and, considering Glen's age and the cruel condition he was suffering from, it's a great listen :guitar:

His voice is still doing it, the songs and instrumentation are seriously tasty :guitar: There's some beautiful steel, that I think is Mike Johnson ('nuff said) and the acoustic guitars are so well captured. A poignant version of Funny How Time Slips Away with Willie Nelson and a tremendous version of a Roger Miller song, Am I All Alone, with killer harmonies from Vince Gill :guitar:

Along with American Grandstand, This Highway and now Adios, what a good month this has been for quality country music :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:

.....Now where did I put my peenie?..........that's an apron, and not anything salacious, as some of you Southern types might have envisaged

Why I iron the whole shebang, Malcolm  No bottox required

PS - Are you bringing your pal, 'Miss Petersen', to Gartcosh on Tuesday? I might give my coupon a quick wipe with a damp cloth and splash on the Old Spice

Not sure if we will be there Danny, not sorted out the "tourist agenda" yet. Will do my best to get there, even if it is a flying visit, so anyone with a Peterson Tuner have your questions ready( there will be a small nominal charge payable to me) ;)

Be careful about ironing underpants.
Last time I did mine I burnt my legs.....

Reminds me of the one about the lady who turned up in A&E with burns to the right side of her face. Apparently someone phoned her when she was ironing...
