Where has all the good humour gone from this world?

This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

Where has all the good humour gone from this world?

Where has all the family humour gone ? Where you could watch true comedy talent without smut etc.
These were the acts you could watch with the whole family and enjoy.

It used to be British television before the P.C. and filth brigade got hold of it.

I always remember as a youngster hearing a bluegrass type band that contained lots of cowbell, horn, whistles, etc within the tune. Have not got a clue who they were but think I was tuned on my transistor to an American country show, possibly the Opry.
Anyone have a clue? Used to look forward to hearing them.

We went through dinner one night last week listening to old Goons tunes. Brilliant.
ShoBud 6139 - Remington Steelmaster - George Boards 8 String - Gretsch Country Gent - National Twin 8 Console x 2 - National New Yorker and a shed full of guitars.

Hey Mick,
That takes me way...way... way back to the mid 1960's.
You may have been listening to Radio AFN, from Germany @ 06.45hrs. They started broadcasting in 1957.
Programmes included the 'Louisianna Hayride' & many others in those distant years.
( It was originally run by Herman Lehmann , son of German immigrants)
The old programmes were broadcast from several locations in Germany to the UK and Europe.
(Originally broadcasting from Bremerhaven then Frankfurt and other towns, as the American took over , after 'the war').
The one you may be thinking of was .. Hillbilly Gasthaus , all bluegrass !!!
AFN is available on the web now and have many repeats of the old shows.

I wish we now had similar shows in the UK of 'real' country music as it used to be. !!! :guitar:
ZB Custom S10 3+4, DD3 Digi delay, ZB vol. pedal. Peavey Nashville 400
