Hi everyone
My name's Jon, I'm a guitar player (regular electric and acoustic) and I make my living from sessions, playing for artists, and some wedding and party band work. I'm 37, and have been doing this for about 9 years, after having a 'proper job' for a while after studying music. I've become involved in the growing UK country music scene (though I suspect some of you may refer to it as pop!) and the subject of PSG keeps coming up. The more I learn about it the more interested I am, not only in country but as something special for sessions.
I'm considering making the commitment to learning but I've never actually been NEAR a pedal steel. I wondered whether there were any experienced players out there not a million miles from SE London/Kent who'd be prepared to accept a visit from a friendly guitar nerd for a few hours for a chat and a bit of a play. I'll bring biscuits and/or beers!
If you'd like to know more about me you can visit www.jonwright.co.uk.
I'd be so happy to hear from someone who might be able to help me learn a bit more about what feels to me like a very exciting and very expensive dark art.
Thanks
Jon
