This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

Musicman 115-'sixty five' ....makes it to Belgium!!

Postby tonewheelkev » Thu Oct 27, 2016 7:11 pm

As you'll recall.....my ...Musicman 115-'sixty five' for sale....thread had run for some time!

I had always felt most reluctant to the idea of sending something 'abroad'....but with little interest here in the UK, decided to post to Jan0.....in Belgium.

The whole experience was absolutely straightforward, and I know that the amp has found a good home....at last... :D

"Parcelbroker" fixed me up with a very competitive service, via UPS ....and I now consider myself a 'convert' to selling internationally...

...Thanks Jan0 ;)

Brexit came to your rescue Kev. The Euro/pound rate makes buying from Britain very attractive for our European steel brothers.

Kev,
thanks again to you. The sixty-five is a great addition to my rig, and the whole transaction was as it should be: clear, correct.
The amp arrived in great shape thanks to your super wrapping and shipping by UPS.
If you ever need it, I will be happy to give you an A+ rating as international shipper.

Ken,
what you say about the pounds/euro exchange is correct. I just want to clarify that I'm not a trader... this amp is staying with me for a long time. The exchange rate makes it possible for us to get affordable gear. When it comes to pedal steel stuff: in Belgium it is scarce. There must only be about 20/25 pedal steels in total here. So to look abroad for gear is almost neccesary. And as Kev said: it didn't get sold in the UK, the amp was for sale since a long time. So win-win, right?

That was fabulous, it was beautifully constructed, the acoustic guitar sound is amazing, the bass fills the headphones, when the steel comes in on the low register it sits in place perfectly. I am impressed. Donny.

And in case you're wondering, the text under the video says:

"single is not on sale, but can be downloaded free from soundcloud.com/jan-oelbrandt/alles-wat-ik-wil . If you wish to support me financially so I can make more music in the future, you can do that here: paypal.me/oelbrandt"

I loved the lyrics, telling stuff. "Everything I want" - starts with a child's needs, grows swiftly through a young man's materialism, then ends with maturity, simpler needs, regret for past mistakes and realisation that none of it mattered. If anyone is interested I will post a translation.

What a beautiful arrangement, Jan. Very plaintive. I really enjoyed that. :guitar:

And Will, thanks for the insight. The music compliments the sentiments you've translated so well, I think.

I used to fancy myself as a bit of a linguist, but sadly it was only as a cunnilinguist
