I've just watched "American Country Countdown" on 389 and I am left wondering what the hell I've been playing for the last 48 years. This was the American top 12 co called country songs and the only two names I recognised were Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban and what they sang was hardly country in my opinion, I also saw a couple of clips from the O2 country do and again the same, didn't hear or see a fiddle or a steel anywhere, well except for one Dobro which was saturated with fuzz.
We keep being told that Country music is making a big comeback but is it really country without fiddles and steel guitars??
Well now it's time for some good old Bluegrass, or has that gone pop aswell??

Dave we are from a bygone age best get used to it, none of the modern crap will endure like Hank, George, Ray and Bob Wills have done over the years, we are lucky to have lived through a time when they were remembered ..... what are todays kids gonna look back on? Garth Who?....

Well said Shakey and JD. To add to the misery it looks like Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes will be consigned to the history books. :(
