date a pickup

i have a set of fender strat pickups ,they have the number 5282 printed on them anyone know ho to date them?

From the information I have checked out on various PUPs, this is the best answer I can give you.
First number is the winding machine number it was wound on ( 1 or 2 digits), the second set of numbers is the production number( 1,2, or 3 digits), and the last set is the year.

So, your PUP would be 1982 !! :ugeek:

thanks Ji, I though i bought them in the 70's but i could be wrong. the shop i got them from said they came off a late 195? 's strat.

turns out they are rear four number bobbins 1972.
