I always enjoy a good collective noun. What would it be for Steel Guitars?
A glissando? A Byng?
I have a feeling Mr. Basil Henriques will actually know this.

Definately must be "A Byng" as most seem to belong to him. Must have a bigger lounge than JD.

Nah - my steels are all in my somewhat overcrowded, but alarmed, studio. There are some guys in this country with a load more pedal steels than I have got. They just keep quiet about it, and put them under their beds to let them appreciate in value. I just like to play mine. I have a mate in Germany who has 7 or 8 Franklin guitars!! Plus a load more of various makes.

May I tender a word - an AMASSATION of steels.

When two or more pedal steel guitars are played simultaneously, I believe the correct terminology is 'a dissonance of steels'

Given the conversation when two or more Steel Guitarists are in company, I would think a good collective noun would be
A BOREDOM OF STEEL GUITARISTS
