Anyone getting anything nice for Xmas?

This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

Anyone getting anything nice for Xmas?

Postby Jif » Mon Dec 22, 2014 3:14 pm

Well, my birthday is on the 28th December, which in the past was a bit of a hindrance as it was always forgotten about over Xmas. Recently I've wangled it so that I can get a double present for both Xmas and my Birthday 8-)

Last year I bought the Carter U12 from John Roche, this year I decided to go for a 12 string acoustic. I had a shot of one of these last year in a guitar shop in Edinburgh, (Scayles), and really liked it. I already have it, played it for 10 minutes to make sure it was OK 8-) now it's safely away in the attic until Xmas day.

Can't wait to get my greasy paws onto it!

Is anyone else getting anything nice music wise?

Nice guitar Geoff.

I got these for Christmas but they're narrow mount ones so wont fit my steels.

If you know anyone who wants them, let me know.

Happy Christmas.

That's not so good David, what pickups are they? I don't suppose there's a 12 (pedal steel) stringer there, not that I could afford it at the minute!

Got a quadcopter ( drone), once I figure how to mount a weapons and targeting system we will be set to go for independence again. ;)

I'm jealous Malcom. This quadcopter thing is really taking off, isn't it

I work in IT in a technical design dept., so you can imagine the conversations that the guys here get into about quadcopters :ugeek:

I bought remote control helicopter from Lidls, reduced from £20 to £14. My wife sent me down for milk and I came back with the copter, (and the milk!). It's was great fun over xmas, quadcopter would be nice though!

Bit windy at the moment though :D

Geoff, actually ended up with two, I didn't know my kids ( adults now) were getting me one and ordered one myself.I actually bid on a microlight three axis aircraft but missed it.If you want a quad copter I have one in box unopened.

Bit rich for me at the moment I'm afraid Malcolm, having just spent a fortune on the Guild. But I have a few friends here who might be interested, could you PM me with a description etc and how much you would want for it and I'll ask around.

You told me that you were getting a new sporran for Christmas Malcolm. Your last one just gave up the ghost with all that cash that you were carrying around. A word of advice - don't drop your sporran on your foot as you will break your toes with the weight of your stash of money!!
