I suppose We all call a vacuum cleaner a Hoover even though Hoover is a brand name.
Is a Dobro a resonator? when describing that type of instrument,
Does a Resonator have low action and have to be modified with a higher nut
Does a Dobro have Tuners at right angle to the headstock and a square neck or even a heavy round neck.

When you mention "low action", how low can you go ?>>>>>.....
The "Nuts" on Dobros are to be found everywhere, and as for the tuners at the right angle, I wasn't aware that reso players (In general) had sufficiently accurate ears to know that they definitely needed a tuner.

Something similar to this would be my choice of a Reso Mute.:-

Not so sure about the Square, Round or Thick neck, but the players? definitely have "Some Neck" IMHO FWIW..

GerrY Douglas is looking for your address at this moment Baz. He and Cindy and several other members of the dobro Mafia are chartering a plane to come and pay you a visit.

Jeez Baz you don't half find some weird musical instruments. Just to worry you a bit more Bela Fleck and Jerry O'Connor are on the same flight.

Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against Reso (Dobro) players per se'... I just feel that the majority of them couldn't "Cut The Mustard" on an electric instrument and have taken the easy way out.
Why and How ?.... Because of the norm with this style, tuning isn't EXPECTED to be as accurate, and indeed in MOST cases that is the case. I feel they fall into the same category as drummers and bass players in UK "Country Bands" i.e. ..Not quite up to par so they're finding a hole to hide in..!

I may add that in my opinion a steel player playing a reso is worlds apart from a Reso player playing lap steel.. FWIW
