Hi Guys
We supported The Quebe Sisters on monday and what a superb and totally pro outfit. If you have an ounce of musicianship in your bones, you must go and see them. The standard of playing and singing is an example of what can be attained by work and practice. practice, practice. From the double bass player to the comping guitarist (and erstwhile Svengali of the outfit,Joe) to the girls themselves, their music is stunning. They have another week or so in the UK, so check their website for gigs. I cannot recomend them too highly.
Don't forget Dale Watson is over here, and he has a great band with him including fiddle and steel ( Don). We are supporting them at The Dockers Club, Townsend Lane, Liverpool, next Tuesday.
Cheers
Barry

I caught some of their set at a recent Americana festival in Gateshead. Very impressive.

Just google "quebe sisters" and choose the youtube selection - plenty of videos of them playing and all good.

On their recordings Gary Carter (psg) usually plays.

Very pretty too, well the girls are, the bass player wasn't so pretty. Ha. They were fantastic at the Cambridge folk festival this year. The best act there without a doubt.

D@vid

Substitute the @ for an 'a'

I will never forget that Richard B. that was so funny, I nearly wet myself..

I just discovered these girls last week when I was searching for some licks I could steal to use in Roly Poly. This is just fantastic music. I love it. By the way, does anyone know how to pronounce their name?
It is Kwee-Bee or Quebec with the "c" or something else?

KWAY-BEE is the way Marty Stuart pronounces it..

Before hearing Marty I WOULD have said "KAY-BEE"
Zb, "queue bee" would be pronounced phonetically as CUE-BEE
