Ah, the Zodiac. First car I drove (legally) was a Ford Consol 375(?), 2 tone blue, white-walled tyres, leather bench seats, column steering and a radio! A total fanny magnet, sadly the only fanny that was ever in it was me. Meanwhile, back at John's post, can you imagine putting a piano in the boot of some of today's cars??? You'd hear the sound of crumbling tin I reckon.

I had a Zephyr 4 a lot of years ago, black with red upholstery, the 'passion wagon'. I took it to Iceland with me. It was an ex government staff car left hand drive and the nicest column gear change I had ever driven. Happy memories.

Ron, that's a long way, to take a ferry, That's a long way, to roam!
Great old cars, they even had their own theme tune, "Theme from Z-Cars"! Would an ex government Jeep have been better for the terrain? My eldest boy's been living in Reykjavik for nearly 10 years now, and it's a great country to see/visit, although it's a dear do these days.

truth is stranger than fiction sometimes, I used that Zody as a taxi back then and this woman could not afford to pay the fare so I took her piano.....that covered it.

I knew that you have always been a travelling musician JD, but taking your old Jo Anna with you everywhere is going a little too far.

John, everyone's missing the obvious question " how the H##l did you manage to lift it into the boot?" Was it a case of can't pay so I'll take it away? I await your response with interest! Robert

Robert, it was about 45 years ago! I was a lot stronger then than I am now and yes I did it on my own!
