New resonator concept.

Travelling through Colorado called in to see Kent at his shop in Gunnison, he’s been working on a resonator project that has now gone into full production The Dobrato. Top class resonator with a Bigsby fitted that can also raise strings like a b bender, fabulous sound and starting to move them to named players etc. Also in the shop he had a 73 roll front Sho Bud Pro, D10.
Gorgeous guitar, I was tempted but getting it home would not have been easy, plus the threat of divorce when I mentioned it made me rethink lol.
Check out Kent’s site - castle creek guitars.com there’s a short video demonstrating the Dobrato.

Sounds really cool! Nice resonator tone, it definitely beats a lot of the dobro imitation pedals... it's a shame I'm :censored: at actual guitar.

Steve, I don’t think his idea was original, I’m sure it’s been tried before, At the time Kent was getting a lot of interest from pro players and doing quite well with initial orders, it was going steady up until this year, like everything else sales enquiries have now dipped. He’s not too bothered as he has a thriving music shop doing well with local school contracts etc.
A very talented guitar and reso player and can pick a tune on steel also.
Regards
Dave.

Yeah Dave you're right. I know that some people have been adding benders to squarenecks and of course the development of the pedabro too, way before this. Never seen it in this environment though on a standard resonator guitar. Really cool and the playing style is a bit different to a dobro that has the usual 1 to a 4 chord bender. Refreshing! Hope you're keeping well and he definitely seems a talented guy looking at the craftsmanship of this, great playing too.
