Young Geraldo was from Madeira and had that good looking swarthy complexion just waiting to be photographed! Hence that story and the sketch.
I did the lifeboat in Oban but I was south for a time some years back and the 'said work' was on sale in Carsons in Lymington for several hundred pounds however when I decided to sojourn back north I brought it back but I did have some quality prints made of it in Highcliiff at the time(our Roy and JP know these areas well) I think I still have at least one of those, the original however, disappeared at the hands of one of our dealers up here in the city who moved premises a time back and claimed it had mysteriously vanished in the move so if you ever see it do let me know as kneecaps come to mind!
