cheap seat

It looks a bit like some sort of hi tec commode. But if it does the job, well...so to speak! I saw Jerry Hogan sat on a similar one last week, just a plain one though with a lid, and a cushioned bit on top.

Gerry had a Scott Dixon one for a while,good looking and lightweight(very expensive). but found it was not very comfortable so went back to standard seat with better cushion.Although I have one from the states with seat back, I agree with John that not everyone can afford one, and if this does same job who cares what it looks like.If I had not brought mine back from the States cheaply,I would happily use one, as I really don't care what other snobbish players think of my gear, the only thing that matters is that I like it.

Well said Malcolm,i`m glad I`m not the only one that thinks like you and for those who have got to have one and can afford one good luck to them and long may their bums be happy sitting on a £200+ seat because that`s all it`s for, my bum is very happy sitting on a very comfy cheap fishing stool, that has more draws ect than I need, and that can`t be bad for less than a quarter of the price of a steel seat it cost only £38.00 on Ebay,and I could`nt care less what it looks like because it does a superb job, and my wallet is very happy also. Here is a pic of the seat I have bought.

Long ago in the dim and distant past when Uncle Roy was but a child, I never had a steel seat, I took a cushion and propped myself up on one of the normal type club seats or whatever was available, I remember folding up the cover off my Fender Twin and putting that under the cushion to gain that extra 1/2" and who woudn't want that.

Up date on the seat that`s if anyone is interested i used my new seat yesterday and on Wednesday and it is a great not only is it very comfy on the bum I got all my bits and bobs in with room to spare .For the money it is an absolute bargain very easy to carry because it has a shoulder strap and it only took two trips to and from the car to unload, one seat my Roland amp one trip and my steel the next `done, But I am not a fussy old man and if it does the job for a far cheaper price that`s all i ask and I don`t give a hoot what it looks like.

Being a short arse, I had a problem with a seat ,Dave Seddon made this fine throne with legs to suit the short legs .
Sadly, the sitting bit is in need of a re- upholstering as it has developed a hardness one could only wish for elsewhere !

Hi Frank,these seats can be adjusted to to any height for the tall player or a short arse like you thats why they are such a bargain.As good as any custom seat I have owned.

Jimmy. glad to hear it worked well for you, at that price you can't go wrong.If looks are a major concern to some then it's probably time some of us visited the plastic surgeon, as there are some not too pretty pickers among us(this obviously excludes you and I and that wonderful looking Uncle Roy ).
