I am out of step!!!

This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

I am out of step!!!

Postby Zumbilly(Murdoch) » Sun Dec 18, 2011 8:31 pm

Last night I had a quiet night at home waiting for My dear Wife to call for a lift home from one of Her many Christmas nights out.
I suppose the fact that I had to remain alcohol free contributed a little to My " Bah Humbug" mood.
I did eventually receive the call to go pick up the Lady and Her two Sisters and like any hen pecked steel player I hurried to the town centre pub.
Upon entering the pub I was met by extreme cacophany, there was thumping music from a million watt system, the assembled revellers were five deep at the bar shouting orders at the overworked staff, everyone was conversing at extreme levels, I lasted about 20 seconds in the bedlam before making eye contact with My Spouse and giving Her the nod that I was waiting outside.
My Wife has a couple of friends who go to that pub every week and they say it is not much quieter any other week. The crowd ar mainly over fifties, must have left their hearing aids at home.
I guess it takes all sorts, but give Me a "live " band anytime.

Malcolm,
The Star Bar has now gone "up market" they have a keyboard player on Saturdays.I have been told He will never make a stalker,,,He cannot follow anyone
We are performing at the Bay Horse at Shawlands cross on Thursdays 9 till 11 it as more of a jam so bring a piece with You.
I had best explain for our Southern Friends that a "piece" is a couple of slices of bread/
