Has anyone been having trouble with paypal at all?
I made a purchase on E bay(uk) for an item which is in the U.S. and Paypay say I cannot pay with the card which has been registered with them for several years.
Contacting these people by e mail is useless and I was resigned to phone at probably a high cost,Their answer was that the problem is with My bank refusing their request for payment.
A(costly) call to My bank resulted in My being told that they had not received request for payment from Paypal.
I then tried to pay online and aggain got the same message as before from Paypal.
I then went to e bay and made a small purchase and paid by Paypal and the transaction went thru' ok.
I tried several times to pay the aforementioned sum to the U.S. seller and still had no success.
A second call to Paypal was placed and the advice again was to contact My bank,it was their problem.
In total I have made six (hi rate) calls and I am no further ahead,although the Lady I last spoke to at the bank said that She had had a few customers expressing problems with sending U.S. $

i've been using paypal for about 7 years & all in all, it is the easiest & quickest way of buyin' stuff abroad
about 6 months ago, the French banking system set up a security check on those who pay high sums through paypal
it works like this : when payin' w: paypal ( linked to a credit card & bank account), the bank sends me an email &/or a text message on my cell fone w: a code that i must enter & send
obviously, this confirms that i am the card holder & paypal user - thus the payment goes through
i don't know if English banks are using this system, but you could ask them about it

There is no problem with the bank blocking,I have a Dollar limit of $1500.
This particular transaction is for a pretty paltry sum,actually less that 50 bux.
The problem does seem to lie with paypal,My account is active and I had no problem buying an e bay item a few hours ago.
It just seems that If i want to pay in U.S. currency I get a no.
Until now I have had no problems with buying from the States.
I May have to send some $ notes in a letter to get over this.

you may need to be "confirmed" I think they send something to your address to confirm that's where you live...
